Programs

Campers are placed in groups according to age and grade in school:

Introductory Session (entering kindergarten)

For first year campers only. Our youngest campers get a taste of Kaleidoscope as specialists and counselors guide them through an exploration of art, music, drama, swimming, sports and Shabbat celebration during our special introductory 2-week session. Each day includes lunch, swimming, a snack and six activity periods. Click here for a sample schedule.

Lower Camp (grades K-3)

Campers travel with their groups to enjoy a variety of exciting art, drama, music, and movement programming as well as science, nature and sports. Recreational and outdoor activities are key components. Each day includes lunch, swimming, a snack and six activity periods. Lower Campers may register for one four-week session or the full eight-week season. Click here for a sample schedule.

Upper Camp (grades 4-8)

Upper campers choose elective classes every two weeks, which may include stage performance, visual arts, cooking, filmmaking, science, and other options. Guest artists, writers, specialists and performers provide sophisticated workshops in a wide range of concentration areas. Campers travel independently through the building, and as a group to swimming each day. Each day includes lunch, swimming, a snack, and six activity periods. Upper Campers may register for two, four, six or eight weeks. Click here for a sample schedule.

Counselors-In-Training (grade 9 and above)

Counselors-In-Training learn leadership skills as they pursue their own interests and assist counselors and specialists in camper activities and events. CITs also may participate in the upper camp musical and use our sophisticated art facilities. In addition to exploring the arts, having access to the LSJCC pools, and participating in special outings and workshops, CITs lead all-camp activities and special events.
