Camp Overview

Health and Safety

The health and safety of your children is of primary concern. Every precaution is taken to safeguard the physical and emotional well being of each child in our summer program. We have an on-call physician. Our staff is first-aid and CPR certified. Medical forms are required from all program participants prior to the start of our summer program and must be valid within the past 12 months.

Allergy Policy

The JCC Early Learning Center is nut-sensitive and we work with families regarding all kinds of allergy needs. All snacks served by the JCC Early Learning Center do not contain nuts, eggs or dairy.  All snack food purchased by the JCC Early Learning Center must come with labels to ensure safety. Children are not allowed to share their food from home to ensure that safety is maintained for everyone.

All teachers are trained to use EpiPens and each child requiring an EpiPen must have their own labeled pen. Teachers carry a first-aid bag with general supplies in addition to children’s specific medical items, including EpiPens and emergency forms when they go outside.

Fire Drills

Fire drills are conducted once a month.

Security

The door to the school is always locked and parents must use their key card to gain access into the building.

Sun

Children can burn quickly. Parents are asked to apply sunscreen to their child prior to coming to camp. However, parents must give permission for the teacher to reapply sunscreen to their child when needed. This permission form is kept in the child’s file.
