Camp Life

Jewish Life

The Bernice B. Godine JCC Early Learning Center integrates Jewish values and culture into our child-centered curriculum. We challenge each other to 'learn, understand and do' as it is written in the Torah, the Jewish people's "instructions for living". Through songs, stories, dances and word-recognition, the children are exposed to the Hebrew language and to the richness of living in a multi-lingual world.

Each Friday, children celebrate Shabbat with blessings, songs and challah (bread) making. Each week, a different child is the "Shabbat helper", an honor that draws the children to actively participate in the joyous celebration of Shabbat. Throughout the year, we celebrate Jewish holidays, as well as the life cycle events of our children's families.
