Programs
Children are full of wonder and are very curious about the world
around
them. We find that it is important to provide an environment where
children can feel confident about themselves. Our program provides each
young child with a developmentally appropriate recreational and
educational experience during the summer. Some programs that we offer
over the summer are:
Swimming: Each day the
children use the LSJCC Outdoor Pool Club for free swim and
instructional swim. Classes will use either the kiddie pool or the
zero-depth pool under the supervision of the aquatics staff along with
the preschool teachers. Swimming lessons are offered once or twice a
week to children who are 3 years old or older. These lessons are taught
by the aquatics staff with the assistance of our own teachers.
Shabbat Celebrations: The
beauty of Shabbat is enjoyed by singing, dancing, and reciting the
prayers over the candles, juice, and challah.
Music: Once a week our Music
teacher joins each classroom and provides them with chances to sing,
dance, play instruments, and creative movement activities.
Special Visitors and Field Trips:
Throughout the summer we have special events that are coordinated with
our curriculum. Some of these are field trips to Drumlin Farm or
Broadmoor Audubon Sanctuary. We also have visitors such as a Petting
Zoo, a visit from the South Shore Science Center, and music by Irie
Roots Band.
