Employment Information

Kaleidoscope Creative Arts and Science Camp employs counselors ages 18 and up and specialists with degrees in their field. We are pleased to offer parents who work at Kaleidoscope a 50% tuition discount for any children attending camp!

We employ mature, reliable, patient people who understand what it takes to make a camper's day a wonderful experience. We are a pluralistic camp welcoming the entire community. All staff must be available for our full eight-week season. Please note that camp is not easily accessible by public transportation.

Counselors are high school graduates or older with teaching experience and demonstrated leadership skills. Junior Counselors must be entering grade 12 with relevant experience. We are currently looking for Lower Camp and Upper Camp staff. Lower Camp counselors are responsible for groups of campers entering grades K-3, leading activities and assisting specialists. Upper Camp counselors (grades 4-10) will be responsible for group activities as well as teaching electives in their chosen areas. We are particularly looking for staff to teach sports, magic, digital photography or film, technical theater, and more.

Interns: Entering 11th or 12th grade, interns are volunteer staff who assist senior staff. Some stipends available upon the successful completion of responsibilities. Interns are needed in technical theater and costumes, or other areas.

Specialists must have related degrees in their field and relevant teaching experience. Openings (as of Feb.10) include:

Science Specialist: To teach daily science and nature classes to grades K-3. Develop curriculum, order materials, and lead activities.
Music Specialist & Song Leader: Keyboard skills, Jewish songs and/or Orff training especially desired. Teach classes grades K-3 and direct camper musical performances.
Art Specialists: Full and part time. Drawing and painting, print making, jewelry, etc., grades K-10
Drama Teacher/Director: Direct camper productions, teach stage combat and other theater electives.
Sports Director: Oversee sports activities for grades K-3 and 4-8.
