JCC members say that no matter
what their interests, pursuing them in a welcoming Jewish environment
gives them a sense of belonging. We are a pluralistic community,
inspired by both our differences and our commonalities, and by the
richness they bring to our campus. While the JCC embraces Jewish values
and traditions, we welcome people of every race, ethnicity, religion
and ability.
Programs
Celebrations
Shabbat, holiday, and Israel Independence Day celebrations at the JCC branches and throughout the Boston
metropolitan area are designed to be interactive and bring families
together for cherished time that creates lifelong memories.
JCC facilities are available for Saturday night simchas-we are a
popular site for Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties, anniversaries and other
special events! Contact your local branch for details.
Jewish family education
Jewish Family Educators are dedicated to helping
members explore the meaning of community and celebration, and to
enriching our everyday activities with Jewish content. At the JCC
branches and camps, trained educators lead our Shabbat and holiday
celebrations, and they constantly bring new ideas for enhancing our
programming with Jewish content. They are also popular speakers and
discussion leaders at JCC Early Learning Center parent meetings and
TeenJCC gatherings, and are valued advisors to the JCC staff.
Interfaith Families
The JCCs welcome and encourage interfaith families to
participate in all programs and activities. In particular, Creative
Judaica Interfaith (CJI), a JCC program offered with generous funding
from Combined Jewish Philanthropies, provides interactive Jewish
programming for interfaith families with or without backgrounds in
Judaism. We strive to give participants the opportunity to discover
Jewish traditions in a safe, non-judgmental setting. Professional
educators, storytellers, artists, and/or musicians staff our events and
are available to help families explore various aspects of Judaism.
CJI holds events throughout Greater Boston. For information about the
program please call (617) 558-6444.
