Our Mission: To advance the aspirations of families and individuals to enrich their lives, bodies and spirits, by providing the best in contemporary programs and experiences, informed by Jewish values for today's Jews and the people in their lives.

The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston offers a wide variety of services for families and individuals throughout Greater Boston. Our contributions to Jewish life can be found in a range of communities and settings: at the JCC branches (Leventhal-Sidman in Newton, Striar JCC in Stoughton, and Metrowest JCC in Framingham); in day camps at our branches and preschools and at JCC Grossman Camp on the Westwood/Dover line; at JCC Maccabi Camp Kingswood overnight camp in Bridgton, Maine; at our early learning centers in Acton, Brookline, Newton, Stoughton and Wayland; and online. Our services include health and wellness centers, enrichment classes, cultural arts and theater, special needs for all ages, and programs for children, families, adults, young adults, teens and seniors. We are proud to be an agency of the Combined Jewish Philanthropies.

History
Our roots reach back nearly a century, to the once-Jewish enclave of Mattapan. There, the Hecht House welcomed immigrants from Eastern Europe's shtetls. Later, when these New Americans resettled in Brighton and Brookline, Cambridge, Chelsea, Quincy and Revere, they took the Hecht House model with them, creating Jewish Community Centers where they could socialize and relax with other Jews-and to strengthen their children's' Jewish identities, a need that became increasingly apparent as Jews integrated within the broader community.

The Associated Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston (AJCC), a confederation of neighborhood JCCs, formed in the 1960s to achieve the economies of scale and strategic planning necessary for a burgeoning Jewish population. In the 1970s, the AJCC reorganized as the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston, bringing a regional approach to bear on a new chapter of Boston Jewish history, a time of geographic dispersion and loosening communal ties.

Vision
We are deeply committed to serving a community that reflects this diversity. Although we are proudly Jewish, we recognize the changes in Jewish life in our times, and strive in every way to provide an open and welcoming setting for all. We are nondiscriminatory in our policies and are always welcome to feedback on how we can support our members and friends. Our doors and our hearts are open to everyone.
