The Timekeepers
A play by Dan Clancy
Directed by Lee Gilat
Saturday, October 16 (8pm)
Sunday, October 17 (2pm)
“…luminous production is blessed with sharp, well-modulated performances that make its familiar paces feel fresh.” New York Times
An uplifting tale of transcendence in the midst of a world gone mad, this award-winning drama has played in London, Israel, Ireland, Canada, Poland, Germany and New York to rave reviews. It is a beautiful, intense piece of theater that manages to combine humor and poignancy with remarkable skill. Set at Sachsenhausen concentration camp, a Jewish prisoner and a homosexual prisoner are thrown together in dire circumstances. Their wicked sense of humor, vast differences and passionate love for opera take them to rich, rarely explored territory. Adult themes.
Facilitated talk-back after the shows by Keshet and the cast members.
Co-sponsored by Consulate General of Israel to New England, Keshetonline, JCRC, New England Holocaust Memorial and Facing History and Ourselves.

Andy Warhol: Good For The Jews?
Written and performed by Josh Kornbluth
In collaboration with David Dower, Director
Saturday, May 7 (8pm)
Sunday, May 8 (2pm)
Josh Kornbluth performs his new one-man show in which he considers the enigmatic pop artist’s commissioned paintings of ten Jewish luminaries, including Albert Einstein, George Gershwin, Golda Meir and the Marx Brothers. In wrestling with Warhol’s motives and style, Kornbluth uncovers his own religious identity and the spiritual dimensions of Warhol’s art. This is the story of one Jew’s discovery of who he is and where he came from…and the mysterious, elusive artist who showed him the way.
“I don’t know whether Andy Warhol is good for the Jews, but Josh Kornbluth sure is. The local solo performer is also good for non-Jews and anybody with a sense of humor…elicit(s) not only belly laughs but a lump in the throat.” Jean Schiffman, SF Examiner
Join in a discussion after each show about Andy Warhol, his art and inspiration.
