About the grant program
The Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston is the administrator of this financial aid grant program for Jewish families enrolling in Greater Boston Jewish preschools for the 2010-2011 school year. The funding, which amounts to up to $1 million for the next fiscal year, was awarded to Combined Jewish Philanthropies by the Jim Joseph Foundation.
The funding is above and beyond CJP’s regular allocations to support Jewish education. Strengthening and supporting Jewish education is central to CJP’s mission, and this new collaboration with the Jim Joseph Foundation furthers CJP’s ability to make Jewish education accessible to everyone.
The Jim Joseph Foundation, established in 2006, is committed to a sustained program of grant making in pursuit of a vision that leads to ever-increasing numbers of young Jews engaged in ongoing Jewish learning and choosing to live vibrant Jewish lives. The Foundation manages close to one billion dollars of assets, using all of its resources to foster compelling, effective Jewish learning for young Jews in the United States. |
